SidekiqMini PCIe

Embeddable Software Defined Radio

Into Systems with MiniPCIe - Embeddable Software Defined Radio

Ready to Integrate

Into systems with Mini PCIe or M.2

The Sidekiq family of products provide breakthrough small form-factor software defined radio (SDR) transceiver solutions, ready for integration into systems that support either Mini PCIe or M.2 cards. Sidekiq is based on Analog Devices’  AD9361  wideband transceiver and supports a tuning range of 70 MHz to 6 GHz. With the AD9361, RF transceiver plus programmable logic, millions of host devices (laptops, tablet computers, embedded computers, etc) can immediately be transformed into RF processing powerhouses with the addition of Sidekiq.

Small Form Factor

Sidekiq comes in two tiny variants

Sidekiq™ Mini PCIe - Wideband RF transceiver + FPGA in a
tiny, production-ready module

SidekiqMini PCIe

The original Sidekiq card has a Mini PCIe form factor with a PCIe Gen1.1 interface. This variant supports two RF front end operating modes: either two phase coherent receivers (common LO) or one receiver + one transmitter (separate LOs).

  • RF Tuning Range

    70 MHz to 6 GHz

  • RF Bandwidth

Up to 50 MHz per channel

  • Power Consumption

    2.1W (typical usage)

  • Integrated FPGA

Xilinx Spartan 6 LX45T FPGA with x1 PCIe interface

  • Form Factor

    Mini PCIe card ( 30 mm x 51 mm x 5 mm )

  • I/O

    PCIe Gen1.1 x1 (2.5 Gbps) + USB 2.0

Sidekiq™ M.2 - Wideband RF transceiver + FPGA in a tiny, production-ready module

SidekiqM.2

This smaller variant has an M.2 T3042-D3-B-M card form factor, supporting either Module Key B or Module Key B and M, Socket 2. It has a PCIe Gen2 interface and two options for RF front end: either two receivers + two transmitters (2x2 MIMO) or one receiver + one transmitter (separate LOs).

Add SDR to Your System

It's how we made Matchstiq

Sidekiq makes it possible to turn millions of host devices into RF processing systems. These tiny software defined radios fit into standard Mini PCIe and M.2 slots and are configurable over a PCIe interface, making Sidekiq an easy addition to many off-the-shelf computing systems.

Add SDR to your system

Ready to Develop

We have tools to help get you started

Sidekiq enables solutions for RF test and measurement, point-to-point communications, and a variety of other wireless applications where size, weight, and power consumption are critical. To support the development of these solutions, the Sidekiq Platform Development Kit (PDK) provides customers with access to both a software API for interfacing to the card, as well as the source code for the FPGA reference design for customization. The software API provides an easy to use interface for configuring the RF transceivers and streaming data between the host and sidekiq over the PCIe interface. Advanced users can add their own processing blocks to the FPGA to radically increase the signal processing capabilities of the system.

Placekiq™ Mini PCIe - GPS Receiver / Timing Reference

PlacekiqMini PCIe

An integrated GPS receiver + clock/timing reference distribution solution for use in embedded systems. Up to four external devices (such as Sidekiq) can be synchronized to the common 40 MHz reference clock and PPS signal provided by Placekiq. A USB interface is utilized to control the card, as well as provide access to NMEA sentences provided by the GPS receiver.
