Job Description

We are in search of an analytical, hard-working and experienced sales executive to lead our sales team and grow our business. This leader will develop and execute the overarching sales strategy to expand Epiq Solutions’ market leading position and drive continued growth in the defense/military/security marketplace. The individual will be a significant contributor to Epiq’s leadership team, with ultimate responsibility for revenue growth and customer success.

Along with a passion for technology, the ideal candidate must have a demonstrated track record of success managing a team executing complex technical product sales in the defense/military/security industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coach, manage, and grow a high performing sales team across the US
  • Drive for growth ensuring the sales team sets and achieves or exceeds revenue and margin targets
  • Foster the Epiq culture of high performance + high integrity, and going above and beyond to ensure the success of our customers and their mission
  • Refine and enhance our sales processes, and ensure our team is well equipped to execute
  • Partner with marketing leadership to execute lead generation activities and develop sales support programs
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and ensure alignment within the company to succeed
  • Accurately forecast sales based on an intimate understanding and management of the sales team’s pipeline and the expected sales cycle
  • Manage and support sales planning activities, sales compensation, territory planning, and account planning with each member of the sales team on a regular basis
  • Manage the inside sales administration team
  • Regular participation in customer visits with sales team members
  • Actively engage with the senior leadership of our customers to support business development and sales activity of our team

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales leadership as VP of Sales or Sales Director with responsibility managing a team of outside account managers
  • Proven track record with complex B2B and B2G technical product sales in the defense/military/aerospace industry, working with both prime contractors as well as direct US DoD organizations
  • Experience hiring, coaching and managing a geographically distributed sales team
  • Demonstrated success in achieving revenue targets in complex, long sell-cycle engagements
  • Thorough understanding of the US government’s technology procurement cycle (both direct engagement as well as through prime contractors and channel partners)
  • Ability to establish and manage executive-level customer relationships in support of longer term strategic business development activities
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with remote team members
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a top secret security clearance, which requires US citizenship
  • Travel: up to 25% (mainly CONUS with occasional OCONUS)

Preferred

  • Previous experience working directly with federal channel sales partners a strong plus
  • Strong preference for locale either near Chicago, IL or in the Washington DC area
  • Experience with federal product certification a strong plus
